Left Right Vegas

Vegas is a popular game, this variant makes for some exciting holes.

Vegas is a very popular game because of its team play and exciting outcomes. This is a variant of the game where the teams change every hole depending on how the tee shots are hit at the start of each hole.

Overview

Vegas is played by combining the individual scores of each team into a team score. So if Team A scored a 3 & 4 on a hole, their team score is 34. With the lower score always being the first number of the team score.

The wagering is based on the difference in the team scores. If Team A has a team score of 34, and Team B (each player had a 4 on the hole) has a team score of 44. Team A wins 10 points. [Team B (44) - Team A (34)]. Each player on Team A receives 10 points. Each player on Team B loses 10 points.

Each hole is played this way and at the end of the round, some players have positive points, and other players have negative points. Those translate to dollars and the wagers are paid out to winners.

Left Right Tee Shots

In this variant of Vegas, instead of the teams staying the same through the round, the teams change each hold depending on the tee shots.

After everyone tees off, the 2 players who hit their drives the most left are on the "Left" team. The 2 players who hit their drives the most right are on the "Right" team.

Even if all 4 players hit drives in the fairway, 2 of them will be on the right side and 2 on the left, even if the balls are just feet apart.

Once the teams on the hole are established, in TeeRival the scorekeeper can click the "L" or "R" to tell the app who is the Left and Right teams. Once the hole is complete, enter the scores for each player and save.

Scoring Factors

While most holes will play out exactly as described above, there are changes based on birdies.

Gross birdies are important in Vegas. If a player has a gross birdie, that score will "flip" the opposing teams score.

As example above, Team A had a team score of 34 and Team B a team score of 45. If the hole was a par 4, that means Team A had a player with a birdie (The 3 in the team score). This flips Team B's score. Now instead of a 45, they have a team score of 54.

This increases the winnings for Team A, because instead of winning 11 points (45-34) they now win 20 points (54-34).

Now, lets say that both players on Team A made a birdie, for a team score of 33. A double birdie now flips and doubles the bet. Now Team A has a 33 and Team B a 45. So Team B first is flipped to a 54 (54-33 = 21 points) and then doubled, so Team A wins 42 points.

Wrap Up

You can also add greenies to LRV and Prop Bets are available in any game as always. Below you can see there are also several options on presses, what the max score on any hole can be and how you want to setup wagers.

There are options of $.50 per point or no dollar value (if you want to play for $.1/pt you can play for points then multiply out the dime for each point at the end).
